RADM Chris Andreasen Honoured by U.S. DoD

Rear Admiral Chris Andreasen, NOAA retired, was inducted into the U.S. Department of Defense, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Hall of Fame on 4 October 2016. He was honoured for his legacy of leadership and invaluable contributions to technological and analytical innovations, both for NGA and the international hydrographic community.

The citation reads: “The leadership that you have provided both afloat and ashore at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) and NGA are widely recognized and revered by all members of the international hydrographic community. Your work with gravity and bathymetric surveying, electronic navigation, and international standards led to significant national and international advances in marine navigation, nautical charting, and marine intelligence.”
