AUV Off To Gulf of Mexico

A C & C Technologies AUV aboard the R/V Rig Supporter on 2nd August began a 22-day transit from the coast of Angola to the Gulf of Mexico. The AUV recently completed 3,100 kilometres of survey lines on a deep-water site investigation study for ExxonMobil. Upon completing its transit back to the Gulf of Mexico the AUV is expected to begin several pending projects. It collects high-resolution multibeam bathymetry side-scan sonar and sub-bottom profiler data in a single pass and has to date performed more than 24,000 kilometres of AUV surveys.
