Call for Student Projects

Innomar Technologie, Germany, is calling for student project proposals in support of the scientific community. The company will provide equipment (SES-2000 light plus, a combined parametric sub-bottom profiler and side scan sonar system), on-site training and individual support for three research projects in Europe at no cost.

Any research project at postgraduate level with a hydrographic component is allowed. Applications include hydrography, dredging, oil & gas, ports & harbours, renewables, environmental surveys, underwater archaeology and geo-sciences. The field work should not exceed two weeks and must be performed in Europe. The project (including report) must be finished by 30 September 2013.

Apart from Innomar’s active support with equipment and training, the student with the most successful project will be invited to present the results during the 6th workshop called "Seabed Acoustics" in Rostock (Germany) in November 2013. Hydro International will publish details of the winning project to bring the  work closer to a wide audience in the hydrographic community.

Any student at postgraduate level enrolled at a European university or scientific institute can apply. The more innovative the proposal is, the better the chances of obtaining funding. A final report (in the English language, max. four A4 pages) must be submitted at the end of the project. Tip: Be engaged and stick to the deadlines!

Proposals are requested (max. one A4 page) to be sent to [email protected]. The deadline for submission is 31 December 2012.
