Fugro Pelagos, Inc. Awarded 5-year NOAA IDIQ Contract

Fugro Pelagos, Inc. has negotiated a contract with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA-NOS), a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce, to provide Hydrographic Surveying and Related Support Services. The Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract is for 5-years, and not-to-exceed US$50,000,000.
An initial Task Order has begun, valued at just under US$6,000,000 for operations in remote portions of Alaska waters, using multiple vessels, and RESON 8111 and 8101 multi-beam echo sounder systems. Future operations can include multi-beam echo sounder, side scan sonar and hydrographic LIDAR anywhere in US waters, including Alaska, Hawaii, the Territories and Great Lakes areas. The contract is designed to help alleviate the backlog of charting requirements for updating navigation charts in US waters. It is also expected to complement NOAA’s concept that hydrography supports integrated ocean mapping. The initial award was a QBS (Qualifications Based Selection) process for these professional services.
