ISA Workshop Postponed Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic

The International Seabed Authority (ISA) Secretariat, in consultation with the Government of Russian Federation, informs ISA Members, sponsoring States, contractors and relevant stakeholders that the ‘ISA workshop on the Regional Environmental Management Plan for the Area of the Northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge with a focus on PMS deposits,’ scheduled for 15-19 June 2020 in St. Petersburg, Russia, is being postponed to a later date, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Updates on this will be made available as soon as possible.

Extension of Deadlines

The deadline for the submission of the nomination of experts to attend this workshop will be extended to 30 April 2020. Members of ISA, in particular sponsoring States, as well as contractors and relevant stakeholders are encouraged to submit their nominations, if not done so already, following the nomination procedure and selection criteria, outlined in the initial workshop announcement on the ISA website.

Technical preparations for the workshop will proceed as planned, and as such, ISA Members, contractors and relevant stakeholders are encouraged to submit information relevant to the objectives of the workshop by 31 May 2020, following the guidelines provided in the initial workshop announcement.
