iXBlue FoG at the Heart of New CDL TOGS 2

iXBlue, France, has signed an agreement with CDL Ltd, the UK's Aberdeen-based subsea engineering specialist, for the supply of FoG-based IMUs. The IMU 50 units will be integrated in CDL’s second generation TOGS subsea gyrocompass. The ceremony took place during Oceanology International, held in London (UK) from 13 to 15 March 2012.

This CDL requirement was for an extremely compact unit but with no compromise on data quality, although that was not the sole factor behind the deal. Commenting on the deal, Olivier Cervantes, iXBlue's VP Sales & Marketing, said that the company had been able to demonstrate its ability to manufacture reliable IMUs in large quantities in line with CDL’s launch plan for the TOGS 2. He believes that iXBlue and CDL can meet market needs and make FoG technology fully available for subsea navigation which can be supported worldwide.
