New Developments in the Atlas Competence Programme

The Atlas Competence Programme (ACP) is now fully integrated into the Atlas Quality Management System (QMS) and is audited and certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2008. The ACP, currently covering the ROV and survey industries, meets the requirements as described in the IMCA freelance framework guidelines and is continuously developing.

At Atlas Professionals, they are committed to providing a safe, reliable and competent workforce, while working to meet clients’ needs globally. Atlas was already the first agency operating an easily accessible, quality-driven and partly automated competence management programme. “Through the ACP we further assure that all professionals meet the requirements of the job, thereby adding value for our clients,” says Dingena Peddie-Theunisse, competence manager at Atlas Professionals. “With the ACP integration into the QMS and ISO certification, we have taken an important step forward towards further expansion into other industries Atlas operates in.”

Expansion into other industries

The Atlas Competence Programme will be expanded to other industries, including drilling, seismic and renewables (back deck), and is open to roll out to other business areas around the world. The most recent step in the expansion process was the roll-out of assessor training.

Assessor training

The growing demand for competence assurance creates an increasing need for assessor training. In order to meet this requirement, Atlas organises an in-house assessor training course. The certified professionals are given the tools to apply a variety of assessment methods offshore during this course. The assessments can relate to, but are not limited to, the ACP, thus enabling assessors to also assess activities of other, client-specific, competence management programmes.
