NOAA Awards Lidar Contract

Fugro LADS has been selected by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), USA, to provide Light Detection and Ranging (Lidar) hydrographic survey services to support nautical charting and related products anywhere in the United States. The contract is awarded for a three-year period, and has a maximum value of USD30 million. The first task order under the new contract has been awarded to Fugro LADS, and is to start in November 2010.

The contract involves acquiring bathymetric and near-shore topographic Lidar data, water level information and other ancillary data that will be delivered to NOAA for application to nautical charts and associated hydrographic products. Fugro LADS was previously awarded this contract in 2003 and 2007.
