Student Papers Award

The Hydrographic Society Benelux encourages students of hydrographic education programmes to submit their final papers for the Student Paper Award. The best paper will be reviewed by an independent jury of professionals.

In the Netherlands and Belgium (the Benelux – although in Luxemburg there are no hydrographic courses) there are various hydrographic programmes, for example: Instituut Willem Barentz on Terschelling, STC Rotterdam in the Netherlands and the Ghent and Louvain Universities and the Hogere Zeevaartschool Antwerp in Belgium. However, all hydrographic students in the Netherlands may participate.

The best paper will receive an award. The nominated student – or students if they are working in a team – will be invited to present their paper during the workshop and the Annual General Meeting. This provides them with a stage in front of the leading hydrographic companies that could be their future employers.

More information on how to submit a paper is available at the schools or by contacting the secretary of the Hydrographic Society Benelux using the contact form on the website of the HSB.
