UXO Surveys Seminar Programme Finalised

Full programme details for the one-day seminar and accompanying table-top exhibition on unexploded odnance (UXO) surveys, to be held at Southampton Solent University’s Conference Centre on Friday 19 June 2015, have been announced by organisers of the event, The Hydrographic Society UK (THS UK).

Immediately following the three-day Seawork International 2015 exhibition and conference at the Port of Southampton, proceedings feature a series of nine specialist presentations by speakers from the UK and US. Topics range from Risks & Mitigation and Detection Methods to specific case studies involving the US Military Munitions Response Programme, Detection Surveys in Intertidal and Nearshore Environments, Acoustic Imaging of Buried Targets, and Recent Dedicated Survey Operations in Mumbai Harbour.

Exhibitors include 6 Alpha Associates, Applied Acoustic Engineering, Atlas Professionals, Bibby HydroMap, Geosoft, GSE Rentals, Innovatum, iXBlue, MMT (UK), N-Sea, Ocean Business, SENSYS Sensorik & Systemtechnologie, and Subsea Technology & Rentals. Due to continuing high demand, two extra tables have been added to the exhibition facilities and are available on a first come, first served basis.

Registration fees, covering also lunch and refreshments, are GBP85 for THS UK members, GBP110 for non-members, and GBP60 for students and those retired. Further details on the event are available online. The event will be of interest to insurance, marine environment and associated survey communities with concerns about unexploded munitions.
