Vessel Corrosion Monitoring

MICAD Marine has begun to include Vessel Corrosion Monitoring as standard equipment in all of its Marine Systems. Corrosion is one of the greatest enemies of all vessels and there are several protective measures that vessel owners can take to eliminate this risk. The typical solution is the placement of zinc on various parts of metallic objects making up submersed parts of the vessels. This new monitoring device offers display and archive of the current status of cathode protection, as well as a permanent log of the entire protective system employed on the boat, for its entire history. If zinc segments are reduced to a condition that places the vessel below minimum levels of protection, the MICAD System will notify relevant personnel. Where excessive protection is present MICAD will likewise alert owners.
