Shallow Survey Common Data Set Collection Underway

The Shallow Survey Common Data Set collection activity is now well underway in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, at the Fisheries and Marine Institutes Holyrood Marine Base. The survey is being captured onboard the Canadian survey vessel Pipit with a Teledyne Marine Sebat T50-P Multibeam. This follows a successful data collection activity with Edgetech’s 6205 Bathy Sidescan.

In an effort to share the data collection activity with the wider community, a live stream will be available on the Shallow Survey website whilst some of the survey operations are underway. This live stream will allow you to see the seafloor being mapped in real-time. Watch the Shallow Survey twitter feed and Linked In group for a timetable of surveys to be streamed.

Sensor manufacturers that want to get involved in the Common Data Set collection still have time, please email [email protected].
