THSUK SW Region Student Presentation Event

Description

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Travis Mason
Presentation Judges: Jeff Faulkner, Nigel Kelland, Dr Travis Mason

Investing in the right people is a key component of business success and identifying the best graduate from those entering our industry can often be very challenging.  To assist employers find the right person and to help students step into their new career we run an annual Students' Presentation Event.

Presentations Titles will include:

A quantative assessment of how MRU misalignment affects MBES patch test results with varying bathymetry and weather conditions

A comparative study into the accuracy and application of laser scanning and photogrammetry in a land based survey

Investigation of the tidal regime in the Indian Ocean with a particular focus on the Tanzanian coast and the issues of reference surfaces, technologies, and data gaps

Spatial and Temporal Sound Velocity Variation and implications for hydrographic survey activities.

The event will start at 6pm with a keynote speech from Dr Travis Mason followed by a series of 14 short presentations with Q&A limited to 10 minutes per presenter.  Food and refreshments will be provided around 7:30pm and an award for the best presentation will then be given at the end of the event. For those wanting to socialise after the event we will then proceed to the Roundabout Pub finishing at around midnight.

We would really appreciate your support at this event as your participation will not only provide an ideal forum for you to offer advice and/or practical assistance, but it will also help you identify a suitable graduate for employment.
