The Danish Geodata Agency’s hydrographic office (Arctic and Surveying) is, as the maritime authority, responsible for surveying and chart production in the Danish, Greenlandic and Faeroese waters. The office is looking for a skillful marine data specialist that can work independently with complex details, but still see the broader picture, and in addition have the courage to look to the future.
You will become a part of Team Hydro, which is the link between the Defence surveyors and the chart production team. You will have an active role in the daily production and managing of our depth data, as well as the possibility to further develop our newly implemented depth database and thereby put your impression on the database and the procedures in relation to the management of our depth data. You would also interact with IT-support and suppliers in cooperation with the team and others at the agency. As a part of Team Hydro, you will follow the development within traditional surveying as well as future supplementary surveying technologies and implementation hereof.
Your personal competences
We expect that you have data flair, can quality control data and have good understanding of processes, systems and IT. It is important that you are tidy with data since you will become our warranty that the office always has a structured and considered approach to our depth data. It will be a plus if you have some knowledge of geodesy and experience with surveying technologies e.g. sonar, LiDAR, SDB and GNSS and international experience within this discipline.
We are a Danish workplace with many nationalities and our working language is often English. Hence, it is important that you master English on a high level – both orally and written.
It is important that you can independently attack complex assignments in a systematic, responsible and engaged way. It is equally important that you can work collaboratively with many types of people and are a team player.
As for experience, we expect that you are educated in, or have professional experience working as a hydrographer, geodesist, geophysicist, oceanographer, engineer, land surveyor, technical designer, Bachelor of surveying or another professionally relevant background and/or experience.

Salary and working conditions
The terms of employment will be in accordance with the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant union organization, though with the opportunity for pay supplements. Your place of employment will be the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate and its ministerial institutions. Workplace will be in Aalborg.
The working hours are 37 hours per week.
