ADCPs in Action 2005 Users Conference
RD Instruments’ 4th ADCPs in Action Users Conference drew an international group of Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCPs) and Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) users from the commercial, academic and government market sectors.
This year’s event was divided into three concurrent tracks delineated by RDI’s business units:
- Water Resources: inland flow measurement applications
- Marine Measurements: coastal and oceanographic current profiling and wave measurement applications
- Navigation: Doppler velocity log applications.
Event highlights included over 40 industry experts presenting their work, training sessions on RDI’s products and software, poster papers, co-sponsor exhibits, round-table discussions, and a series networking events.
RDI also welcomed Captain Craig N. McLean, NOAA Executive Officer, National Ocean Service as their keynote speaker. Captain McLean kicked off the event with an exemplary overview of the history and future goals and objectives of NOAA. Captain McLean also congratulated those in attendance for their contributions to science, and highlighted the role that our industry can play in driving oceanographic initiatives.
This year’s users conference attracted over 160 attendees and 15 industry co-sponsors.
