Applanix POS MV WaveMaster for DEFRA
For the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA, UK), an Applanix POS MV Wavemaster Inertial Navigation System along with Applanix POSPac MMS post-processing software has recently been purchased from Swathe Services.
The executive agency of DEFRA purchased the system which provides accurate attitude, heading, heave, position and velocity data from Swathe Services this month, fulfilling a portion of its target to award at least 25% of its procurement contracts to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The system has been purchased in order to upgrade the current portable multibeam echosounder system which will be used for surveys throughout the UK and overseas.
The POS MV Wavemaster is a GNSS-aided inertial navigation system enabling the user to obtain an accurate and robust georeferencing and motion compensation solution for hydrographic surveying and related marine remote-sensing tasks. POS MV also enables the logging of raw GNSS and inertial observables for later processing in POSPac MMS, a powerful GNSS-aided inertial post-processing package.
