Atlas to Open Office in Lowestoft

In May 2015 UKPS Offshore, focusing on high-quality ROV personnel, decided to close its doors for good. The remaining contractors were left to look for alternative agencies and the staff had to find new jobs. At the time of the closure, Atlas Professionals director Andrew Blears approached two of UKPS’s staff, team leader Tonia Weldon and personnel coordinator Rosie Parr. They decided together with Andrew Blears to form a new Atlas sales office based in Lowestoft, Suffolk, UK, drawing on the expertise and experience of Tonia and Rosie to manage the office.

UKPS Offshore worked with leading figures in the offshore industry. The new Atlas office will introduce new opportunities for ROV personnel as well as offshore wind staff and will complement Atlas’ current ROV team, developing a stronger business line for both professionals and clients.

Director Andrew Blears hopes to strengthen Atlas Professional’s position in the ROV sector, valuing people and experiences. The skill sets from Tonia and Rosie will strengthen the current relationships with clients and will sustain the high-quality of ROV personnel that Atlas Professional supplies, even during the current downturn, he continued.

Made Their Mark

The new team members have already made their mark in the supply of offshore agency personnel. Team leader Tonia Weldon has worked in the industry for a number of years and has worked with both clients and agencies. As she has worked hard in developing her client and professional relations she will take on the role of operations manager within the new office.

Personnel coordinator Rosie Parr is a diligent team member who cares for all the professionals she has worked with.

The office’s location is another asset to Atlas, as Lowestoft is the main port that serves the southern North Sea and is the epicentre of East Coast Renewables, and their major wind farm project which is due to start production in 2017. Atlas’ Lowestoft office will officially open on 15 June 2015, and will introduce new ROV personnel and other related disciplines to Atlas Professionals.
