BMF Inward Mission – New 7” Multi-Role Units from Simrad

The new 34 Series from Simrad consists of a GPS Chartplotter, ChartSounder, ChartRadar and MultiRadar all of which feature high quality TFT seven inch screens. Designed to offer powerful functions for vessels where space is limited, the 34 Series has the same features as Simrad's 44/54 Series of combination units, which feature 10” and 15” screens respectively.
The chart system is based on C-Map NT+ electronic C-Cards. Using precise and detailed vector charts, information on ports, navigational marks, lights, buoys and contours etc can be called up at the touch of a button.
The ships symbol moves in real time on the chart whilst split-screen display allows you to view detailed charts whilst keeping an overview on 'zoomed out' a chart.
The 34 Series also features professional echosounder functions derived from the technology used in scientific research ships. The powerful 600-Watt transceiver can reach depths of up to 600 meters (4000 feet) and the unit is able to distinguish between fish close the bottom and seabed features, up to a certain depth.
A Dual Range radar mode gives a detailed close range radar image with the ability to view a long-range overview alongside. Radar images can be overlaid onto chart images to provide the full picture, making for safer navigation and a more relaxed voyage in general.
As with the 44/54 Series, the 34 Series features Simrad's unique PrimePad control and high speed processors that improve chart drawing times.
