Cadden partners with Voyis on underwater photogrammetry
Cadden has announced a partnership with Voyis, a recognized leader in underwater photogrammetry and optical technologies and a member of the Covelya Group. The collaboration positions Cadden as the distributor of Voyis technologies in France, broadening the range of tools available for underwater applications.
This partnership introduces Voyis’ advanced photogrammetry systems to the French market, offering high precision and image quality for underwater data capture and analysis. Designed for demanding environments, Voyis solutions are well-suited for applications such as offshore wind farm inspections, shipwreck surveys and underwater infrastructure assessments. Their ability to produce accurate 3D models under challenging conditions reflects their reputation for reliability and technical excellence.
3D modelling and computer vision applications
During a recent Technical Day event, the Cadden team demonstrated the integration of the Voyis Discovery Stereo vision system with MarineNav’s Oceanus Pro underwater drone. The Discovery Stereo camera operates without calibration, requiring only a straightforward connection to the vehicle.
The camera’s compact design supports operations at depths of up to 4,000 metres. It provides a wide field of view and delivers a 4K video stream with real-time enhancements for sharper visuals. Its still imaging capabilities facilitate 3D modelling and computer vision applications, making it a versatile tool for underwater operators.
A significant feature of the Discovery Stereo system is its compatibility with EIVA NaviSuite-powered VSLAM (visual simultaneous localization and mapping) software. This software enables real-time 3D reconstruction and mapping, integrating IMU data, vehicle navigation and high dynamic range imagery. The combination supports tasks such as obstacle avoidance, defect detection and trajectory planning, making it a valuable asset for dynamic underwater operations.
By introducing Voyis technologies to its portfolio, Cadden aims to meet the evolving needs of underwater professionals with robust and precise solutions tailored to complex environments.
