ENC Chart Capturing Tool turns Freeware
SevenCs GmbH have announced that its ENC digitising software is available as freeware by the end of January 2008. First introduced in 1997, the ENC Designer is in use by more than 40 hydrographic offices. It is considered the most effective software on the market to quickly generate ENCs from survey sheets and paper charts.
Gert B. Büttgenbach, director of SevenCs, said that it is the company's vision to make available tools for professional cartographers so that ECDIS users can enjoy a choice of S-57 charts. Mr. Büttgenbach made clear that all existing support agreements with hydrographic offices will continue. Users of the new freeware license will be offered professional assistance under a support agreement that can be renewed annually.
