German Meet French Hydrographers
After initial contacts between the Deutsche Hydrographische Gesellschafft (DHyG) and the French Association pour la Promotion de l'Hydrographie (APHY), the German Hydrographers were invited to present during the trainings day of the APHY. Holger Klindt accepted the invitation.
The first contact between the two organisations was initiated during Intergeo 2009. An official delegation of the APHY visited the Intergeo 2010 in Köln.
The APHY has a strong technical approach and emphasises the training and sharing knowledge and technical experience. Members of the organisation are representatives from French shipping and harbour organisations, but also hydrographers from the industry are welcome to join.
During this year's bi-annual conference held in the pumped power station Grand'Maison, president of the DHyG Holger Klindt presented on the organisation to their French counterpart and further co-operation is considered.
