GPS/GLONASS Dual Frequency OEM Receiver Platform

Septentrio has announced AsteRx2, a compact high-end dual-frequency GNSS receiver for demanding industrial and professional applications. This is the second product in the new AsteRx family of GNSS receiver boards from Septentrio. AsteRx2 is a compact OEM board with low power consumption, featuring dual-frequency GPS tracking and offering measurements for high-precision positioning even in challenging environments. AsteRx2 features optional GLONASS functionality, thus increasing availability, reliability and accuracy of positioning. Septentrio has high expectations of the combination GPS-GLONASS, according to Peter Grognard, Managing Director of Septentrio. "With the expected investments in the GLONASS system announced by the Russian Federal Government, the added navigation signals offered by the GLONASS system can help to increase the availability and accuracy for certain applications in very difficult environments." Septentrio expects to start shipping AsteRx2 by spring 2007.
