Hydro 2016 Programme Finalised
Full programme details have been finalised for the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies’ 24th symposium and exhibition in Rostock-Warnemunde from 8-10 November 2016. It is expected to attract over 300 delegates from nearly 30 countries to the venue, the Yachthafenresidenz Hohe Dune Hotel overlooking the Baltic Sea. Organised by The German Hydrographic Society (DHyG) on behalf of the nine-member Federation (IFHS), the three-day English language event will feature 54 individual presentations over 12 parallel sessions, 48 exhibitors and an extensive series of specialist workshops and on-water demonstrations.
Opening with a welcome address by IHO head Robert Ward on the first day of his new title as the inter-governmental organisation’s Secretary-General, main conference proceedings will cover a wide range of topics ranging from conventional, remote and space hydrography to strategic, practical and technical issues as well as education and capacity-building needs. The proceedings also include a dedicated session for student and graduate presentations for which a prize of GBP500 and a framed certificate will be awarded to the author(s) of the one adjudged the best by delegates; the winner of IFHS’s prestigious annual Student Award for 2016 will also be announced.
