Hydro 2026 extends call for abstracts to 1 July
To give hydrographic professionals extra time to submit their contributions to this year's annual conference, the Hydrographic Society Benelux has extended the call for abstracts for Hydro 2026 to 1 July.
Hydro 2026 will take place from 27 to 29 October in Antwerp, Belgium, hosted at the Waagnatie – a striking industrial landmark on the banks of the River Scheldt. Organized on behalf of the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies, the event will be set in a truly maritime environment, with several hydrographic vessels moored in a nearby harbour during the conference.
While contributions on hydrography in the broadest sense are welcome, this year's programme will place particular emphasis on unmanned and autonomous systems, submarine infrastructure and advanced sensor technologies. Hydrographic applications – including habitat mapping, seabed characterization, backscatter and marine spatial planning – as well as data processing advances will also feature prominently.
Beyond the scientific programme, Hydro 2026 will host an exhibition from major industry companies and offer plenty of opportunity to connect with colleagues during breaks, side events and the traditional conference dinner on the Wednesday evening.
