IMarEST’s Presence At RenewableUK Conference

The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST, UK) will be exhibiting at RenewableUK’s 34th Annual Conference & Exhibition being held in Glasgow on 30 October - 1 November 2012. The exhibition area will be open to all delegates and houses almost 300 companies from the British wind, wave and tidal sectors ranging from manufacturers to utilities and suppliers.

As a supporting organisation of the long-running event, organised by the trade and professional body for the wind and marine energy industries, the Institute is looking forward to meeting many of the key players and telling them about the IMarEST Offshore Renewables Special Interest Group. 

RenewableUK 2012 delegates will hear from high profile speakers, including Alex Salmond, First Minister of Scotland, and conference sessions and seminars will update them on a wide range of topics.

Expected to attract up to 5,000, the show features a careers fair on day three. This will offer a chance to find out more about career entry points, pathways, training, and re-skilling opportunities to enable interested individuals get a first foot on the career ladder of the renewable energy sector.

IMarEST looks forward to meeting many of these individuals and talking with them about membership of the Institute.

The Institute has formed a technical sub-committee called the IMarEST Offshore Renewables Special Interest Group (IMarEST-ORSIG) to pull together experienced members from the shipping, offshore oil and gas and power distribution sectors, globally. Initial objectives of the ORSIG are to seek a standardisation of data, and the compilation of risks and their mitigation.
