Indus Wins EPA Office Of Water IT Support Contract

INDUS has won a contract from the EPA's Office of Water valued in excess of US$10 million dollars over five years. INDUS will provide systems support to key Office of Water applications in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment. The new programme adds computer-generated data to the basic NHD programme to help hydrologists ascertain where groundwater has come from and where it is going.

INDUS has supported various program offices within the U.S. EPA from the company's founding in 1993, and INDUS staff have served the Office of Water for over 15 years. Recently, INDUS has been instrumental in the success of large scale EPA Office of Water efforts including roll-out of the NHDPlus program and enhancements to the WATERS architecture and services.

INDUS has successfully performed over 40 tasks supporting the programmatic needs of the Office of Water. In May 1998, EPA tasked INDUS to develop an Oracle database to house water quality standards information, including designated uses. The organisation has been working on the National Hydrography Dataset.  The newly awarded EPA Office of Water contract was awarded under the Department of Commerce's COMMITS NexGen Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC).
