Interest for SDI Lecture

Over 60 delegates have already booked to attend the Autumn Symposium organised by the Southern Region of The Hydrographic Society, UK. Entitled "Hydrography and Marine Spatial Data Infrastructure - Measure Once, Use Many" the event is taking place at the prestigious venue of Bradfield College near Reading, UK on 27th October 2009. The keynote address will be given by Rear Admiral Ian Moncrieff - UK National Hydrographer.

The symposium will explore why the hydrographic industry is so important to the collection and production of Marine Spatial Data, and how a new market (Infrastructure) is opening up, making that data attractive and valuable to many users, often far removed from the traditional customers for hydrographic surveys.

There is still time to register as a delegate to the event. The cost is GBP100 including lunch, with a concessionary rate of GBP65 for students and retired attendees.

A number of companies have already taken the opportunity to reserve simple exhibition space, to demonstrate to delegates how they support the new data infrastructure, and a small number of tables remain available.

Full details of the final program and venue location are available on the THSUK website. Here you will also find details of how to reserve exhibition space, and how to become a sponsor the event. Delegate bookings can be made on-line, and payment made by credit card, up to 23rd October.
