Jubilee Field Ghana Contract

UTEC Survey Construction Services Ltd has been awarded a contract by Technip to provide survey and positioning services for the Jubilee Field Development, offshore Ghana. Under the terms of the contract, UTEC Survey is performing pre-lay surveys, acoustic LBL array deployment, subsea metrology and associated yard based dimensional control in association with all subsea structures.

A pre-Jubilee phase began in October 2009 with the installation of acoustic LBL arrays, which will be used throughout the main Jubilee installation programme.

The main project phase is scheduled to begin in January 2010 with the installation of 32 offshore structures. Technip will mobilize its deepwater lay vessel ‘Deep Blue' followed by the ‘Deep Pioneer', and supported by the LCV 'Olympic Triton'. The installation work is expected to take approximately six months to complete.

"Supporting Ghana's first major oil & gas development is a significant milestone for UTEC," states Trevor Hughes, Director of Sales & Marketing of UTEC Survey. "UTEC is committed to providing Technip with ‘best in class' survey & positioning services, on time and within budget. We are excited to have been awarded this contract, which follows the successful completion of an earlier contract with Technip supporting the company's flexible pipelay fleet in the Gulf of Mexico in 2009."

UTEC Survey, one of the world's largest independent offshore survey companies, provides a wide range of offshore survey and geotechnical services to clients worldwide. Headquartered in Houston, with offices in Aberdeen, Singapore and Perth, the company enjoys a reputation for providing highly professional, customer-focused services and innovative solutions for both deep and shallow water applications.
