Kongsberg Simulation European User Conference

Kongsberg Maritime reports a successful European leg of its annual simulator user conference programme. The European Simulation User Conference 2007 (UC2007), held at the Kalmar Academy in Sweden, 24th - 27th September 2007, attracted approx. 100 delegates from Kongsberg Maritime simulation equipped colleges and maritime training institutes in Europe.

The conference themed 'Optimising the Maritime Educational Experience' included customers presenting how they optimise their simulator training by sharing training experiences, which is a key theme that runs through all Kongsberg Maritime User Conferences.

In fitting with the conference theme, Kongsberg Maritime announced a special promotion - a free three month trial of Web-enabled navigation and engine room simulators - which will facilitate optimising the educational experience for their students by taking advantage of the latest simulation technology.

The Kalmar Maritime Academy, a modern institute situated at the Kalmar harbour, possesses a wide spectrum of Kongsberg Maritime simulators. Students demonstrated various simulator functionalities to the conference delegates, including ice-navigation and DP-training during a guided tour of the academy.

Delegates are provided with the latest simulation development road map, ensuring that they are fully aware of forthcoming products. They are also given the chance to take a vital role in Kongsberg Maritime's development process by providing feedback and ideas at conferences, and through the official feedback channels that the simulation department has in place.
