L-3 Klein 5000 V2 Multi-Beam Side Scan Sonar
L-3 Communications Klein Associates have introduced their upgraded version of their System 5000. The L-3 Klein 5000 was the first commercial Side Scan Sonar system to employ cutting edge Multi-Beam technology. L-3 Klein has continually made incremental improvements to the System 5000 over the years. Now we have completed an upgrade and technology refresh to the 5000 and are proud to introduce the new L-3 Klein 5000 V-2.
L-3 Klein has added a Reconnaissance Mode which extends long range coverage to 250 metres per side while maintaining along track resolution at 10cm to 38m, 20cm to 75m increasing to 36cm to 150m and 50cm to 250m. Also has been added Frequency modulated Chirp, which yields consistent cross track resolution at all range settings and speeds. L-3 Klein has reduced noise, resulting in sharp along-track resolution at higher tow speeds, with 100% bottom coverage.
With the release of the 5000 V2, L-3 Klein will be offering an option for a high accuracy, low cost Pitch and Roll sensor. When coupled with L-3 Klein's image stabilisation software, embedded in Klein's SonarPro, more image enhancements are provided to the end user.
