Latest Version DNC Production System
CARIS has released version 3.2 of CARIS DOM (DIGEST Object Manager) for DNC (Digital Nautical Chart) production. CARIS DOM software is used for the production of DNC and Vmap1 (Vector Smart Map) nautical charts and also supports production of NATO Additional Military Layer (AML) products in VPF (Vector Product Format) format. The new version includes new tools, as well as modifications to existing tools engineered to bring efficiencies in production, with specific attention to the data validation and error correction processes. The Digital Nautical Chart is produced by the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) and is an unclassified, vector-based digital database containing maritime-significant features essential for safe marine navigation.
