Live Underwater Action at Oi

IXSEA will be realising a live satellite linkup at Oi08 from 11 to 13 March, 2008 at ExCeL, London. Visitors to booth 400 will watch IXSEA's seafloor mapping and subsea positioning systems and solutions in action via satellite linkup with the MINIBEX oceanographic vessel in the Mediterranean Sea.

With four satellite linkups daily, demonstrations will include:

  • 10am - GAPS: Successful acoustic subsea positioning in very shallow water
  • 12pm - SHADOWS: Real-time, georeferenced, wide coverage and constant resolution seabed mapping with SAS
  • 2pm - RAMSES: New and innovative embedded data fusion for sparse array navigation
  • 4pm - PHINS & DVL: Subsea inertial navigation and positioning in action

Tuesday 11 March, 10 am: Vincent RIGAUD, Head of the Underwater Systems Department, IFREMER will discuss "AUV navigation during the Malisar campaign using the PHINS Inertial Navigation System and GAPS USBL" and its associated merits.

According to IXSEA CEO Thierry Gaiffe, this is a great way to demonstrate the breadth and depth of our systems and solutions. IXSEA will also launch FUNS (Fused Underwater Navigation System) at Oi08: based on a building blocks philosophy, FUNS integrates field-proven acoustic and inertial positioning technologies into a robust and versatile positioning system. FUNS has four base products: GAPS, calibration free USBL; PHINS Inertial Navigation System; RAMSES, the new intelligent embedded data fusion engine with sparse array platform and DELPH INS post-processing software, which together meet the most demanding subsea positioning requirements.
