Marport and WHOI Cooperate
Marport Deep Sea Technologies has signed a Memorandum of Understanding agreement with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). The parties will work together to develop hardware and software products, or enhancements to existing products, in the areas of underwater acoustic sensor technology development and applications, environmental monitoring and control instrumentation, and education and training in the application and use of such technologies.
As part of the agreement, Marport will install its multi-function, phased array sonar on WHOI's research vessel Tioga, a coastal research vessel that serves ocean scientists and engineers working in the waters off the north-eastern United States.
