MMT Wins Survey Contract
Marin Mätteknik AB has been granted a survey contract covering about 150km2 in Skagerrak, according to IHO S-44 standard for the County Administration of Västra Götaland. The contract is to map the area for a planned marine national park, manifesting strong public interest in the results of this survey. The work encompasses both bathymetry and geophysical seabed surface interpretation with backscatter and side-scan sonar. In these vicinities, MMT have recently twice conducted large surveys. In 2000 a pilot project was launch to survey the Kosterfjord from Säcken to the islands of Väderöarna, covering 144km2. The project was performed in joint co-operation with Västra Götaland County Administration and Tjärnö Marine Biological Laboratory, a so-called Centre of Excellence governed by the Universities of Göteborg and Stockholm. In 2003 a survey took place in the northern Swedish part of the Skagerrak, under contract to the National Board of Fisheries and the Swedish Navy.
