Navionics “XL9” Regions For the Americas and Europe

Navionics has added a new coverage size for its Gold+ Charts, XL9 for the Americas, Europe and Rest of the World. Providing over three times the coverage previously available in XL3-size regions and featuring the same level of detail and accuracy, the XL9 regions are available for the Great Lakes, US navigable rivers and coastal waters throughout the Americas and Europe.

The vectorized XL9 charts are legible charts without clutter, holes or discontinuities at every zoom level. With the same details of the XL3 charts at up to 16 zoom levels, XL9 charts offer information on navaids, tide and currents and port services.

XL9 cartography is available on preprogrammed generic SD (Secure Digital) or CF (Compact Flash) cartridges that are readily available with expandable memory for future developments. Navionics charts are compatible with chartplotters such as Raymarine, Furuno, Lowrance, Humminbird, Geonav, Eagle, Northstar and many PC based navigation software. The plug-and-play feature of the charts eliminates the need for consumers to download CDs or unlock codes.

Fish’N Chip

Navionics Gold+ XL9 Charts are based on official government and NOAA S-57 digital cartography, and provide the same detail and accuracy of all Navionics charts. Gold+ Charts also provide additional features such as enhanced port services, coastal roads to help locate amenities near port; and an extensive wreck database for diving and fishing enthusiasts. Customers who purchase select Gold+ Charts are eligible to receive Navionics new Fish’N Chip, high-definition fishing detail for serious fishing, containing detailed and unique bottom contour information available to help locate near shore and offshore structure, ledges and canyons in US waters.
