Ocean Business 2015 Registrations Up 32%

Ocean Business 2015, which is taking place from 14-16 April 2015 at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK, is expecting a record-breaking number of visitors. Versha Carter, group director for Ocean Business, commented that visitor registrations are up 32% on 2013. She regards it as very reassuring that despite the price of oil and the uncertainty that this creates within the industry, visitor numbers are growing. The organisers look set to deliver their largest Ocean Business yet.

The organisers have experienced a far greater diversity of international visitors, with over 50 different countries represented so far. The tradeshow Ocean Business is free to access after registration, expected to bring together over 5,000 international visitors and it presents the latest technologies, through an exhibition and live demonstrations, from nearly 350 businesses.

Related Events

Ocean Business 2015 is to reflect all sectors of business. With so much support from the ocean community it has become a centre for related industry events and Ocean Business 2015 sees the greatest number of high profile events yet. These range from a one day seminar on the Blue Economy run by The Federation of Surveyors (FIG) and International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO), to meetings hosted by The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) and the Canadian High Commission. Also running alongside Ocean Business will be the Offshore Survey conference which is a lively two-day conference focusing on the latest technologies and business issues facing the global field of offshore surveying.

Social Acitivities

As well as these events, there will be a vibrant schedule of social activities at Ocean Business. These are always brimming with visitors, providing a fantastic opportunity for networking, and include a drinks reception on the evening of Monday 13 April, a sponsored wine trail on Tuesday 14 April, and a gala dinner on Wednesday 15 April held at O2 Guildhall Southampton.

Ocean Careers will be running over the three days to provide recruitment and careers advice. If a visitor is newly qualified or currently seeking work, Ocean Careers can offer direction and inspiration for a career path in this sector.
