Oceaneering International debuts electric-powered ROV for extended subsea operations
With the debut of the Momentum Electric work-class ROV at the Subsea Tieback Forum, Oceaneering International’s Subsea Robotics segment has introduced its latest innovation in remotely operated vehicle (ROV) technology. The new system represents a significant shift in ROV design, adopting an electric propulsion platform developed through a rigorous, data-informed engineering process.
The Momentum Electric ROV represents a significant shift away from traditional hydraulic systems, prioritizing reliability, operational efficiency and a simplified architecture to set a new standard for work-class ROVs in the subsea sector.
Designed for endurance, the Momentum Electric ROV is optimized for 30-day continuous subsea missions, making it a robust solution for critical operations such as drilling support, inspection, maintenance and repair, surveys, and construction. With plug-and-play sensor integration, 360-degree vision, advanced automation and strong thrust and payload capacity, it delivers precision and performance in the most demanding environments.
