Offshore Survey 2019 Calls for Abstracts

The sixth Offshore Survey conference is taking place alongside Ocean Business at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK, on 10-11 April 2019. The deadline to submit papers for the event is 14 December - don't miss out! Offshore Survey is one of the year’s industry and professional conferences. It’s always a popular event and has gained a reputation for attracting the best papers, with a unique mix of global technology and business.

The conference offers a golden opportunity to share cutting-edge information and the committee welcomes submissions for sessions on: Subsea Positioning; Hydrographic and Seabed Systems; Survey Operations; Data Processing and Visualisation; and Industry and Professional Issues. For information about the session topics and to submit abstracts online, visit www.oceanbusiness.com.

Growing awareness

This year’s conference will be chaired by Gordon Johnston, vice-chair of Commission 4 – Hydrography at the International Federation of Surveyors, and director of Venture Geomatics, who said “It’s an honour to be involved in developing an event that has built a great technical and content-rich reputation. The growing awareness of the importance of our seas and oceans along with the developing technologies and trends, offers an opportunity to really showcase new ideas, update the experiences and prime the all so important network discussions around our business.”

Gordon Johnston will be working with a committee of global industry and academic experts to evaluate the abstracts. As well as this, the conference will be fully supported by partners, the Hydrographic Society and Hydro International, to ensure an exceptional event for the industry. The final programme will be revealed in January 2019.

Hands-on training and demonstration workshops

One of the special attractions of Offshore Survey is that it runs alongside Ocean Business, which provides a high calibre three-day exhibition of technology and services, with a full programme of hands-on training and demonstration workshops, providing an unrivalled opportunity to learn at the same time as trying the latest technologies. Ocean Careers will also run over the three days to provide advice on career opportunities within the ocean technology, marine science and offshore industries. As always, the combined events bring a lively social programme for networking with colleagues old and new.
