Operations General Manager Appointed

Jay Northcutt of Lafayette, LA, USA, has joined Tesla Offshore as Operations general manager. For the past 37 years, Northcutt has worked in the offshore oil and gas industry for a number of different companies. For the 16 years immediately prior to joining Tesla Offshore, Northcutt worked as Geophysical Manager for C & C Technologies.

Northcutt began his career specialising in high-resolution data acquisition. Through the ensuing years, he has met new challenges and worked on a number of pioneering projects and equipment integrations. These include dual vessel high-resolution 2D seismic and deep-towed high-resolution data acquisition.

Since 2000, Northcutt has managed a fleet of commercial AUVs and was responsible for the collection of over 270,000 line kilometers of high-resolution data. This data collection covered over 375 deepwater projects in the offshore waters of fifteen different countries around the world. Northcutt has also managed conventional survey ships worldwide and has undertaken surveys for the offshore oil & gas industry, the submarine telecommunication industry, for various state universities and for the United States Government.
