Patrice Coholan Recognised

Patrice D. Coholan, president of Horizon Marine Inc., USA, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Oceanography. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honour, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honourees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

With nearly three decades of professional experience and a background in cartography, Ms. Coholan serves as the president of Horizon Marine, providing ocean current monitoring and forecasting in support of the deepwater operations of major oil and gas companies in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as offshore operations in Trinidad, Brazil, West Africa and Australia. Horizon also offers vessel asset routing and tracking, oceanographic buoy manufacturing, and Fast Eddy rapid response surveys for fine-scale ocean current monitoring.

As president, Ms. Coholan oversees fifteen employees, conducts presentations and oceanographic surveys, lectures, compiles proposals, researches, offers consulting services, and participates in conferences. In 2010, she was recognized as a Professional of the Year in Oceanography by Cambridge Who's Who. Ms. Coholan attributes her success to hard work, fortune and passion for her profession, as well as the support she receives from her husband. In the years to come, she hopes to train her successors and see the company gain more international exposure.

A graduate of Western Illinois University, Ms. Coholan holds a Master of Arts in geography with a concentration in cartography. She is also a 2010 graduate of Harvard Business School's Owner President Management (OPM) Program and received an Award of Achievement from Dartmouth High School. In order to keep current in her industry, she maintains affiliation with the National Association of Professional Women, the Marine Technology Society and serves on the board of trustees of the Ocean Explorium at New Bedford Seaport.
