PD Teesport go for Vector Sensor

Saderet Ltd, the European distributor for CSI Wireless have supplied seven Vector Sensor GPS compass systems to PD Teesport. The Vector Sensor provides sub-half degree heading, and sub-meter navigation data for use on 7 of PD’s vessels that provide the following wide range of port services:

  • The Tees Harbour Launch and Tees Surveyor acquire hydrographic survey data
  • The Heortnesse and Cleveland County are trailer suction dredgers
  • The Seal Sands is a grab dredger, whilst the Wilton is the buoy tender vessel
  • The Seaton is engaged in general workboat duties

The Vector Sensor offers multiple source differential input including IALA beacon and EGNOS, and PD’s systems are also using the port’s own Eston DGPS base station for local corrections. Furthermore, in addition to heading, the systems are capable of providing vessel pitch or roll information depending on the antenna array alignment.
