PHINS 6000 for Seatronics

IXSEA has delivered a PHINS 6000 inertial navigation system to Seatronicsl. PHINS 6000 with DVL Ready option is a subsea inertial navigation system, providing subsea vehicles with position, true heading, attitude, speed and heave.  

PHINS 6000 is based on Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) technology coupled with an embedded digital signal processor that runs an advanced Kalman filter. Already the owners of more than 50 IXSEA OCTANS gyrocompass and full motion sensor for use in the oil and gas offshore construction market. According to Nick Goodwin, Sales Director, IXSEA Ltd., this reflects the growing desire for additional positioning capability for ROVs and other subsea vehicles in the ever-deepening theater of operation. Many end clients are now specifying the use of inertial navigation systems in the survey spread and PHINS 6000 allows Seatronics to compete in this market.
