Polish Coastal Surveillance

ATLAS ELEKTRONIK has received an order from the Polish Border Guard worth €5m for a coastal surveillance system. The pilot scheme will provide surveillance of the Polish coastline from the Russian border to the Hel peninsula, north of the Gdansk Bight. The system will include radar sensors for sea and air surveillance, infrared sensors for thermal imaging and radio sensors including GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) facilities. The initial phase of deployment also includes a new data management system with situation displays that will be extended to include planning aids for assignment of necessary forces and vehicles, in addition to exchange of data with other naval and maritime organisations and authorities.
