Preview of New Optech Technology at OCEANS’14

Visitors to the OCEANS'14 MTS/IEEE conference from 14 to 19 September 2014 in St. John’s, Canada, will get a sneak preview of upcoming enhancements to Optech’s product line. Details will be available on how Optech sensors are achieving results and increasing understanding of the near-shore environment. Besides new sensor systems, Optech will also be sharing information on the new Project Programme for Optech CZMIL airborne bathymetry and water-column characterisation system.

Although CZMIL is already in use with several large government agencies, it has been out of reach for smaller organisations that could use its seamless topo/bathy mapping, unparalleled turbid water penetration, 80m clear-water maximum depth, and collection of complex environmental data. Optech is getting ready to revolutionise the industry by making CZMIL and its comprehensive HydroFusion software workflow more widely available, and visitors to the Optech booth can learn how to take advantage of this opportunity.

Visitors will also get a preview of a new addition to Optech’s marine and topographic mapping product line. The company’s scientists and engineers have been breaking new ground on Lidar technology, and their latest work will push the boundaries of what people expect Lidar systems can do. Optech will officially reveal these changes at INTERGEO in October, though OCEANS’14 attendees will get a sneak peek at the innovations.

Conference-goers can learn all about these developments by heading to Optech booth 103 during the show, where regional sales manager Jim Green will be present to help them find the right Optech tool for their own specific marine application.
