Renewable Tidal Energy Event

The NAMTEC Manufacturing Forum, UK, is to host an event on Marine Renewables: Harnessing the Supply Chain Potential in Wave and Tidal Energy on Thursday 8th September 2011, at the Ramada Jarvis, Willerby hotel near Hull.

This event will provide delegates with the opportunity to engage into this fast-growing market sector at an early stage, providing a clear view of the potential for future commercial revenue and networking opportunities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet leading UK organisations, recognised as world leaders in driving the development and implementation of marine devices, which will outline their technologies, device construction, future outlook and their view to the future commercial potential.

As of March 2011, the UK had 3.4MW of marine renewable energy installed, a 50% increase on the previous year. 2011 represents an important step. It is forecast that there will be a 100% increase in the installed output and through to 2014 this will grow to around 60MW and transition from prototypes to small arrays of devices.

Confirmed speakers include Marc Paish, CTO of Pulse Tidal, Peter Fraenkel, Technical Director of Marine Current Turbines, and Richard Allton of Alstom Power.

In addition, NAMTEC will be joined by Renewable UK, the trade and professional body for the UK wind and marine renewables industries, who will present an overview of this energy generation sector.
