ScottishPower Renewables awards subsea O&M contract to GEOxyz
ScottishPower Renewables, part of the Iberdrola Group, has selected GEOxyz for a multi-year framework agreement to deliver subsea operations & maintenance (O&M) services at the East Anglia Hub – one of the UK’s most significant offshore wind developments.
Under the agreement, GEOxyz will carry out subsea balance of plant (BoP) maintenance, combining remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations with geophysical seabed surveys. This work will play a vital role in safeguarding the reliability and performance of the wind farm infrastructure located off the UK’s east coast.
“We are proud to support ScottishPower Renewables on this important offshore wind project,” said Stephen Thomson, commercial manager/asset integrity UK at GEOxyz. “This award reflects our team’s expertise and ability to deliver integrated ROV and geophysical solutions to the highest standards. It also showcases our unrivalled flexibility and asset range, allowing us to provide a tailored, multi-asset approach. Building on our strong O&M track record – including work with Iberdrola on Saint-Brieuc OWF – this project reinforces our position as a trusted offshore partner.”
Full package of survey services
Under the framework, GEOxyz will deliver a full package of subsea inspection and survey services, supporting ongoing maintenance activities and ensuring continued reliability across the sites.
Antonio Muñoz, ScottishPower Renewables’ senior contract manager, stated: “East Anglia ONE is our flagship offshore wind farm in the UK and it’s great to welcome GEOxyz to our East Anglia supply chain family. We look forward to working with them as a trusted partner to ensure we achieve optimum performance from our wind farm and deliver that much-needed green generation to the grid for years to come.”
The scope of work includes ROV inspection and operational support, geophysical seabed surveys and data processing and interpretation. These activities will culminate in detailed reporting designed to support informed asset management strategies. The project will be delivered by GEOxyz’s UK and European teams, making use of in-house expertise and dedicated subsea technology to ensure a safe, efficient and high-quality execution.
“We are delighted to enter into this collaboration with ScottishPower Renewables,” said Wouter Degezelle, commercial director at GEOxyz. “Being selected for this long-term agreement demonstrates trust in our capabilities and further strengthens our role in supporting offshore wind operations across the region.”
