Seaview Sensing to Install at Wave Hub

Seaview Sensing are to supply their metocean data software to the University of Plymouth and PRIMaRE (Peninsula Research Institute for Marine Renewable Energy) for use in the new Wave Hub project in the South West of England. The software will be used to provide waves, in particular full directional spectra data, and surface currents across a field in real-time.

Wave Hub will create the world's largest test site for wave energy technology by building a grid-connected socket on the seabed, 10 miles off the coast, to which wave power devices can be connected and their performance evaluated.

Seaview's Technical Director, Prof. Lucy Wyatt says ‘We are pleased to be providing our software to the Wave Hub project, it will provide everyone involved with valuable met-ocean data. We are seeing increasing interest in our data from the marine renewables sector. We expect that device developers will find the data particularly interesting and the potential to access the data online exists".
