Sediment Transport Software For Streams And Water Channels
Aqua Vision, The Netherlands, has released the ViSea STAR (Sediment Transport Analysis Routine) software package.This solution has been developed to provide quick and easy sediment concentration, flux data and figures for water resource professionals. The software calculates this data using acoustic doppler current profiler (ADCP) output files and sediment concentrations from water samples.
ViSea STAR allows users to easily load and validate multiple transects, enter and edit water samples, select parameters of interest and generate an array of output, with just a few clicks of the mouse. The user can choose between multiple output formats, including ASCII files, table summaries and a selection of figures.
ViSea STAR has been designed for measurements in small streams and water channels using data acquired with Teledyne RD Instruments, RiverPro, StreamPro or RiverRay ADCPs.
According to Aqua Vision’s managing director, Peter Meijer, ViSea STAR includes years of experience in sediment transport studies and software development to create this sediment transport software specifically for streams and water channels.
