Solstice Side-scan Sonar at AUV 2012

Sonardyne International, UK, will be exhibiting at AUV 2012. Held every two years by the Oceanic Engineering Society (IEEE-OES), this year’s conference is taking place at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK, from 24 to 27 September 2012. Sonardyne will be exhibiting Solstice, a new generation of search and classify side-scan sonar with integrated swath bathymetry.

Specifically designed for operation on small, medium and large AUVs, Solstice provides wide swath coverage at high resolution whilst consuming less than 12W of power. This results in high area coverage rates, long vehicle endurance and the highest quality imagery possible from a conventional sonar.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Persistent Presence’ and will provide educational and networking opportunities for those working in the field of autonomous vehicles for ocean applications.
