Subsea Europe Services named mainland Europe distributor for R3Vox survey system
Subsea Europe Services, along with its defence division FLANQ, has been appointed the mainland Europe distributor for the Voxometer multi-aspect survey system, developed by Malta-based R3Vox. The agreement expands Subsea Europe Services’ portfolio of hydrographic and underwater inspection technologies for commercial, academic and defence clients across Europe.
The company plans to take delivery of the advanced Voxometer-XL system in the coming months, with availability in its rental fleet expected by the end of summer 2025. The introduction of the system to the European market aims to simplify hydrographic survey operations while improving data quality, supporting broader efforts to modernize marine surveying and inspection workflows.
The Voxometer is a next-generation marine survey system designed to set new benchmarks for speed, simplicity and precision in seafloor mapping. As the first fully automated MA3 multi-aspect survey system, it enables faster surveys with reduced operational complexity and lower costs.
Facing skills shortage
User-friendly and versatile, the Voxometer allows operators with different experience levels to collect high-quality data from both crewed and uncrewed vessels. It captures multiple data types in a single pass, streamlining setup and processing and helping reduce project timelines – a practical advantage as the industry faces a growing skills shortage.
Under a new distributor agreement, Subsea Europe Services will handle sales and rentals of the Voxometer across mainland Europe, targeting academic, offshore and geophysical markets. Its defence division, FLANQ, will focus on serving clients in defence, maritime security and government sectors, broadening the system’s reach across both civil and strategic applications.
Subsea Europe Services’ appointment as a distributor for the Voxometer in mainland Europe builds on a longstanding relationship with R3Vox’s sister company, R2Sonic. Over the past five years, Subsea Europe Services has successfully facilitated the sales and rental of R2Sonic’s Sonic multibeam echosounders, establishing a strong foundation of trust and collaboration for the launch of a radical new subsea technology.
Strategic step
“Our partnership with Subsea Europe Services is a strategic step in expanding the reach of the Voxometer system within Europe. Their technology expertise and commitment to customer success make them an ideal partner to introduce our next-generation survey technology,” said Cris Sabo, vice president sales for R3Vox and R2Sonic.
“Being selected as a mainland Europe distributor for the Voxometer is a testament to our dedication to providing clients with the most advanced and efficient survey solutions available,” said Sören Themann, CEO and co-founder of Subsea Europe Services and FLANQ. “After seeing the Voxometer in action, I’m confident that it aligns perfectly with our mission to simplify marine data acquisition and analysis for professionals in both the commercial and defence sectors.”
